ImageALBA - Even though the series of wine-tasting events usually create perplexity as to the real quality of the wines, on reading my personal tasting notes, I have noticed that it is not often that I have tasted such an exceptional range of Barolo Reserve, coming from one of the most valued vintages of recent years. What was the fashion for wine in 2001? We were at the apex of the tendency to create wines, which could catch the customer’s attention (both in Italy and abroad), probably leaving aside the characteristics of the territory and the grape.

Tenderloin VS Sirloin

ImageMy trustworthy butcher, Silvano, also slaughters and sells tender beef coming from the neighbouring countryside. The bullocks are breed without the use of chemicals, in the wild and expressly for him. But, it is not easy to purchase this meat, one must be a regular customer or be able to pull strings. At the right moment, it is a real pleasure to be able to go to the butcher’s shop and purchase one of "his" steaks. The only problem is the continual argument of whether the tenderloin steak is better than the sirloin steak cut from the external part, where there is no tenderloin.
